In 2026, Arlington Regional Master Naturalists, the Virginia Bluebird Society and Gunston Hall volunteers collaborated to revamp the existing nestbox trail at Gunston Hall. The Gunston Hall property is over 500 acres and situated along the Potomac River. The property includes wooded trails and open spaces ideal for Eastern Bluebird habitat. The nest boxes have fledged well over 100 birds in one season including both Eastern Bluebirds and Tree Swallows.
