The first chickadee nest on the trail in 2023 was spotted on April 9th. Chickadee nests are made of moss and lined with soft material such as fur, cobwebs, and cocoons. The eggs have rusty brown patterns and are the size of a chickpea. The black bits are tiny chickadee feathers from one of the adult birds (Photo by Jackie Rivas)
